State Names Cuba the Capital of 21st-Century Communism in a 100-Page Indictment

U.S. Department of State | state.gov

The State Department released a 100-page report on July 20 charging Havana with a nearly seven-decade campaign of espionage, infiltration, and ideological subversion against the United States. It rests its case on convicted moles Ana Belen Montes, Walter Kendall Myers, and Victor Manuel Rocha, who reached the Pentagon, the State Department, and the National Security Council. Secretary Marco Rubio calls Cuba the leading sponsor of radical leftism in America.

Moolenaar, Cornyn, and Cotton Move to Erase the “Private Company” Fiction in China Spy Cases

Select Committee on the CCP | chinaselectcommittee.house.gov

Chairman John Moolenaar and Senators John Cornyn and Tom Cotton introduced the Stop PRC Economic Espionage Act, which would treat any entity domiciled in China, Russia, Iran, or North Korea as a “foreign instrumentality.” Prosecutors would no longer need to prove a firm is state-controlled, a burden the bill’s authors call absurd where Beijing’s security law makes every company an arm of the state.

The Washington Post Waves Away 220 Million Stolen Voter Files as No Big Deal

John Solomon | Lyceum

John Solomon dismantles David Ignatius’s claim that Trump’s declassified documents proved Chinese meddling was minor. By the intelligence community’s own October 2020 definition, compromising voter-registration data is election interference. Career officials suppressed evidence that China acquired 220 million American voter files, one boasting of a “shadow government” that massaged the president’s briefings.

Steve Cohen Quit the Progressive Caucus When It Became the Socialist Caucus

Matt Margolis | PJ Media

Representative Steve Cohen of Tennessee, a J Street ally since 2007, told CNN he left the Congressional Progressive Caucus last year because socialists had taken it over and brought antisemitism with them. Cohen was among just 22 Democrats who voted to censure Rashida Tlaib; she has not spoken to him since. Even Van Jones now warns the drift is scaring off centrists.

As Socialists Win Primaries, Voters Split Evenly on Whether America Should Copy Europe

Scott Rasmussen | Napolitan News Service

A Napolitan News Service survey finds voters split 38% to 38% on whether Europe should become more like the United States or the reverse, with 24% undecided. The gap is generational: 53% of voters under 35 want America to look more like Europe. In 2022, Americans favored the U.S. model by seven points. The edge has since vanished.

Rubio Vows to Dismantle the ICC, a Court That Claims Power Over Americans Who Never Signed Its Charter

Jed Babbin | The American Spectator

Jed Babbin backs Secretary Rubio’s campaign against the International Criminal Court, which asserts authority to arrest American soldiers and officials though the United States never ratified the Rome Statute. Rubio pledges to dismantle the court “brick by brick,” calling it the instrument of leftist NGOs and hostile governments. Bill Clinton declined to submit the treaty to the Senate in 2000.

Rand Paul Says the FBI Blocked Border Agents From Questioning a Fauci Ally in 2021

Misty Severi | Just the News

Senate Homeland Security Chairman Rand Paul released documents he says show the FBI told Customs and Border Protection not to search or question EcoHealth Alliance president Peter Daszak when he landed in New York in February 2021. Agents had planned to ask about his Wuhan lab contacts and biological samples. The records precede Anthony Fauci’s scheduled testimony before Paul’s panel.

House Oversight Hauls the ABA In to Answer for Its DEI Accreditation Rules

Ray Hilbrich | Legal Insurrection

A House Oversight task force will question American Bar Association President Michelle Behnke on Wednesday over whether the group weaponized its accreditation power to push DEI in law-school admissions and coursework. Representative Brandon Gill of Texas wants to explore eliminating such policies entirely. The ABA once explicitly required accredited schools to practice racial preferences.

The Postwar Consensus Is Dissolving, and Soon Everything Will Be Reexamined at Once

Peter Banks | The American Mind

Peter Banks argues that the “Boomer Truth Regime,” the postwar package of sanctified beliefs treated as beyond debate, is coming apart as a new generation takes over. He uses the panic over Loudoun County’s data centers, which return $26 in taxes per dollar of services, to show a reflexive fear of any technology capable of doing large things. When the whole package unravels, he warns, nuclear power and civil rights law alike land on the table.
