Mr. President, Use the UN Veto

We foot 22% of the bill and still play the villain. Why keep paying to be the bad guy? Call it what it is: not America First

Dear Donald,

You have the veto. Use it.

We write as Trump whisperers — the authors of Trump’s World: GEO DEUS, the definitive account of your profoundly principled realism doctrine. Between us, we’ve spent years inside the UN system. One of us had the top American post at UN Geneva as the Cold War ended. We know this organization from the inside. Like a dead fish, it stinks from the head down.

Start with the math. Six billion dollars a year, and the UN gives us nothing back. It’s outmoded. It’s inefficient. It’s dead weight dressed up as diplomacy. Bretton Woods did its thing — eighty years ago. The job is done. Time to phase it out. Move on.

You’ve already pulled the US from nearly 100 UN bodies. Good. There are more to cut. The 193-member General Assembly is run by the G77, and you already know what that is: a shit-show. We foot 22% of the bill and still play the villain. Why keep paying to be the bad guy?

Call it what it is: not America First.

Eleanor Roosevelt wouldn’t recognize what’s become of her legacy. She built this thing to be reformed, not worshipped. The best tribute isn’t nostalgia — it’s transformation. Get America back in the driver’s seat. Get value for every dollar. So, pick one this year:

A revised Council of Democracies on Turtle Bay, with real membership criteria — or a stripped-down Security Council: lean staff, rotating presidency, minimal secretariat. No more dead weight.

You’re the only one who can make this call. You set the terms; you pick the leader. Gianni Infantino had his moment and blew it — too many balls in the air and, worse, another Western European chasing a Western European’s job. Blow the whole model up. Put someone in who is pro-democracy, pro-market, and actually likes America instead of resenting it.

Now the part that matters most and what you do best: politics.

Outgoing Secretary-General António Guterres has always been a card-carrying member of the Socialist International — the same club chaired by your favorite, Spain’s Pedro Sánchez. He didn’t hide it. He hosted Socialist Party meetings inside the UN building in New York every year, timed to the General Assembly, using UN real estate to gather Socialist heads of state under one roof. Picture U Thant or Kurt Waldheim running a Comintern session in that same building during the Cold War. Unthinkable. A flagrant breach of neutrality — and it’s why Guterres will go down as the worst Secretary-General in UN history, presiding over its steepest decline since the founding.

Who comes next as Secretary-General?

The current field will be rewarded in rough proportion to who’s backing them and how powerfully. Michelle Bachelet is eminently veto-able — she can’t even carry her own country, Chile, and instead leans on Mexico’s Claudia Sheinbaum and Brazil’s Lula. Costa Rica’s Rebeca Grynspan is more polished but cut from the same cloth — Socialist International, straight out of Costa Rica, where she was a minor vice president. She’s the SOS: Same Old Socialist.

Regional rotation has held — except for Guterres, vaulted in over Eastern Europe’s turn when consensus broke down. History will regret that call. Now that we’ve seen the first openly partisan Secretary-General, we have every right to demand political rotation too. On every count, this is the moment for a conservative to take the seat. Make a list…

August 29th. That’s the deadline. Leave your mark, as is your calling.
