Modern American news publications, whether online or print, are similar to the stars in our firmament. They are born, live (sometimes for quite a while), then die. The public hardly notices, nor should it. There are simply too many shiny new outlets vying for our attention. For a paper, a podcast, or an online journal to endure, what it offers must itself be of enduring importance.
That, in short, is Lyceum’s mission.
Our promise, renewed each morning, is to deliver the most interesting, comprehensive, and useful writing we can to our fellow Americans. If we do this well, and we mean to, Lyceum will go on shining for years to come.
